About the museum
In its collection and exhibition, the Zugfőzde Pálinkamúzeum follows the history of pálinka distilling from the Etruscans, through the Gall distilling apparatus (Gall-féle főzőberendezés), to the present day. Particular emphasis is placed on illicit distilling from the period after the Hungarian Soviet Republic until 2010, whose equipment has barely survived in museums, because the ingenuity of home distillers knew no bounds. The museum also presents some of the folk home-distilling tools and methods.
The exhibition covers the raw materials of pálinka (more than 30 kinds of fruit and plant), the tradition of medicinal pálinkas, and retro pálinka bottle labels from the 1970s–80s. Guided pálinka tours and tasting admissions are also available.

During opening hours, admission tickets can be bought without registration. Children under 14 cannot visit the museum without an adult.
