About the museum
The Isaszeg local history collection and village museum opened in 1967 in a building that recalls traditional village architecture. It has archaeological, ethnographic and historical collections.
The permanent exhibition follows the history of the municipality by theme, from prehistory to 1944. A separate section preserves the memories of the Battle of Isaszeg on 6 April 1849; on a 4.5 square metre table model, nearly a thousand lead figures recreate the main events of the battle.
The outdoor area features a bell frame (harangláb), a lőcsös cart (a traditional wagon type), a wine press and 19th-century gravestones.
