About the museum
The Kis-Balaton Visitor Centre is the showcase of the Balaton-felvidéki Nemzeti Park Igazgatóság (Balaton Uplands National Park Directorate) at Keszthely-Fenékpuszta. The interactive exhibition presents the wildlife and natural values of Kis-Balaton; a 27-minute film shows the fauna of the wetland habitat, and a nature trail leads across the green roof.
Temporary photo exhibitions are also held in the entrance hall of the centre. Tours leave the visitor centre for the Fekete István memorial site on Diás-sziget (Diás Island), by own vehicle, golf cart or boat, and guided tours of Kis-Balaton are offered. The building has a playground, a gift shop, and a café and kitchen.
