About the museum
The Vörs Fire Brigade Museum opened in 1983 in a renovated fire station depot, and was the country’s first rural fire brigade museum. A significant part of the material comes from the collection of a Budapest museum; in 1989 it was extended with a storage hall (raktárcsarnok).
The permanent exhibition presents turn-of-the-century fire protection in the 70 m² room: fire-fighting and fire-protection equipment from 1890–1910, including a steam fire pump (gőzfecskendő), a horse-drawn ladder (lovas létra) and a hand-operated cart fire pump (kézi hajtású kocsifecskendő).
