About the museum
The Széchényi Ferenc Tájmúzeum is a local history and memorial institution of the village of Ebes. Its main profile is the permanent exhibition “Ítélet nélkül – Családok kényszermunkatáborokban” (Without Judgement – Families in Forced Labour Camps), which presents the deportations of 1950 to 1953 in Hortobágy and Nagykunság: on the present territory of Ebes, on the then state farms, more than a thousand people were taken away without court proceedings. The museum also keeps a local history and ethnographic collection, a retro exhibition and the artistic legacy of Uzonyi Pál of Ebes. The institution is part of the Hajdú-Bihar County Heritage Register (Értéktár).
