About the museum

The Tamási Helytörténeti Kiállítás (Tamási Local History Exhibition) is one of the rural exhibition sites of the Wosinsky Mór Múzeum in Szekszárd, located in the building of the Könnyü László Városi Könyvtár (Könnyü László Town Library). The permanent exhibition presents the archaeological, historical and ethnographic remains of Tamási and its surroundings.

The library started in 1952 as a district library, moved into its present building in 1978, and in 1999 took the name of Könnyü László, writer, poet and cartographer. Since 2017 it has been part of the integrated institution of the Tamási Művelődési Központ és Könnyü László Könyvtár (Tamási Cultural Centre and Könnyü László Library). A presshouse museum (présház-múzeum) also operates on the Várhegy, which can be visited by prior booking.
