About the museum
The memorial house is located in a peasant house in Galgamácsa built in 1905, which has been renovated; since 1989 it has borne the name of Vankóné Dudás Juli (1919–1984). The internationally recognised naive painter depicted the traditions, costumes and festivals of the village.
Paintings and pencil drawings by Dudás Juli hang on the walls of the clean room and the summer kitchen. The other part of the collection recalls the old life of the village: utensils, the folk costume of Galgamácsa, a craftsman’s workshop, and characteristic small agricultural machines and tools gathered in a barn.
