About the museum
The Casa Contadina in Forenza is an ethnographic museum set up in the historic centre of the town. It reconstructs a typical house of rural life between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, which remained inhabited until the 1970s.
The visit route comprises four rooms: the living quarters proper, the stable, the cellar and the hayloft. The spaces convey the daily life and the agricultural work of a Lucanian peasant family.
The site is among the cultural venues promoted by the Municipality of Forenza.
