About the museum
The house museum occupies the former studio of the sculptor Cirillo Grott in Guardia di Folgaria, a building that was once the village's old church. The artist worked here, in the woods of the Folgaria plateau, and took his works to exhibitions in Milan, Rome, Germany and France, always returning to Guardia.
The museum mainly displays wooden sculptures, alongside paintings and poetic texts. The part open to the public is on the ground floor, while a private collection is kept in the raised area of the studio.
Since February 2019 the permanent exhibition has been arranged according to the stages of life, from the cradle to the cross, with themes such as family, motherhood, tenderness and the suffering caused by war.
