About the museum
In the former Caserma Milano at Cima Grappa, next to the large car park at the summit, the Museo storico della Guerra 1915–1918 (Historical Museum of the War 1915–1918) is set up. The building is part of the complex of the Sacrario militare del Monte Grappa (Military Shrine of Monte Grappa), the war memorial to the fallen of the Great War on the summit of the massif.
The exhibition is laid out on two levels and gathers documents, photographs, weapons, equipment and relics from the war period, bearing witness to the battles fought on the Grappa between 1917 and 1918.
Next to the museum is the entrance to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele III, the tunnel carved into the rock during the war, whose visit may be restricted for safety reasons.
