About the museum
The Luigi Bonfanti-Vimar car museum was founded in 1991 and opened in September 1992 in the industrial zone of Romano d’Ezzelino, a few kilometres from Bassano del Grappa. It is recognised by sector bodies such as the FIA, ANFIA, ASI, AAVS and AISA, and by the Veneto Region.
It has become known internationally for an innovative exhibition approach: every six months, in spring and autumn, the contents are completely renewed with a different theme, devoted to a make, a model, a category of vehicles or a historical period.
The museum also hosts lectures for mechanical engineering students at the University of Padua and specialist courses for restorers of vintage vehicles. It received the award for Best European Motoring Museum in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004 and 2007.
