About the museum
The Centro Storiografico – Museo di Sant’Osvaldo occupies a room in the parsonage of Sauris di Sotto, which also serves as a reception point for visitors. It gathers objects from the church of Sant’Osvaldo, whose patron, the King of Northumbria, was invoked against the plague.
The display, arranged chronologically and by theme, presents parchments, furnishings, liturgical vestments, sacred goldsmith work, votive offerings and a nativity scene, dating from the 15th to the 19th century. The route illustrates the faith of the community, its economic and social history and the German-origin dialect spoken in Sauris.
The museum is part of the CarniaMusei network.
