About the museum
Casa Bruseschi was the residence of the Bruseschi family, one of the oldest and most important families of Pesariis, who lived there from the 17th century onwards. Today the house belongs to the parish and is open to the public thanks to the donation of its last owner, Dorina Bruseschi, as the Piccolo Museo della Casa Carnica.
The rooms preserve furnishings, kitchen utensils, furniture and textiles that show how domestic life was organised in Carnia. The route leads to the kitchen with the traditional fogolâr hearth and its double firedogs (alari), the sink in carved stone with copper buckets, and the plate racks (piattaie) in carved wood.
On the upper floor, the bedrooms and the study of the lawyer Battista Bruseschi and of his father Pietro can be visited. The house is part of the CarniaMusei network.
