About the museum
The gallery arose from the bequest of the painter Marco Davanzo, who was active between the 19th and 20th centuries and drew inspiration above all from the landscape and life of Carnia. The bequest comprises over 600 works.
The exhibition route shows the development of his painting through paintings and sketches, and is accompanied by an introduction and critical notes. One room recreates the master's studio with the painter's tools. The works also document the life, traditions and culture of Carnia.
The display comprises a permanent exhibition and a temporary section, housed in the centre of Ampezzo.
