About the museum

The Children's Museum Verona is an interactive museum for children aged 0 to 12, devoted to the STEAM subjects: science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. It was born from an idea of Gruppo Pleiadi, an Italian company specialising in science communication, with the support of Fondazione Cariverona and the Veneto Region.

The museum is located in the former Magazzini Generali of Verona, an industrial heritage complex that housed a large refrigeration plant and is currently being redeveloped. The museum covers about 1,000 m² over two floors and is the first children’s museum in the North East and the fourth in Italy.

The visit is free-flowing and based on the rule “forbidden not to touch”: the Area Interattiva (interactive area) on the first floor offers experiences on water, light, mechanics, sound, logic and the human body, divided by age group, while on the ground floor the ThinkLab hosts practical workshops for schools, families and companies. The museum is a member of Hands On! International Association of Children’s Museums and of the European network Ecsite.
