About the museum
The Homo et Ibex visitor centre of the Gran Paradiso National Park has been set up in the building that housed the Grand Hotel of Ceresole Reale, in the locality of Prese. The central theme of the exhibition is the relationship between people and the ibex in history and art, up to the present day.
The route combines multimedia tools and reconstructions: some panels recreate a cave with prehistoric engravings showing early ibexes and hunting scenes of the time. Numerous everyday objects, paintings and photograph collections are also on display, together with references to the myths and legends that grew up around this mountain animal.
