About the museum
Infini.to is the astronomy and space museum of Pino Torinese, next to the Turin Astronomical Observatory. Opened in 2007, it is run by the association ApritiCielo and combines an interactive museum, named after Attilio Ferrari, with a digital planetarium whose spherical structure recalls a red supergiant star.
The museum is spread over four floors, which visitors descend from the entrance level, and lets them experience the laws of the universe first-hand. Floor 0 introduces how the ancients observed the sky; floor -1 presents methods of observing the universe at different frequencies and the astronomical instruments; floor -2 is devoted to forces and gravity, with installations such as the Moon jump and the gravitational funnel; floor -3 tells the story of the evolution and history of the universe, from the Big Bang to gravitational waves.
The ticket includes free access to the museum with an audio guide, an introductory show in the planetarium and, in good weather, observation of the sky with the naked eye and through a telescope from the terrace. The offer also includes the Sentiero dei Pianeti and the Sentiero delle Stelle, a library that can be consulted during the visit, a family programme and educational proposals for schools.
