About the museum
The archaeological exhibition is named after Antonino Di Vita (1926–2011), an archaeologist born in Chiaramonte Gulfi. He taught at several Italian universities, served as rector of the University of Macerata from 1974 to 1977 and directed the Italian School of Archaeology in Athens from 1977 to 2000. He led excavation missions in Libya, Algeria and Tunisia and worked on Greek and Roman art and on Sicilian, Phoenician and Punic archaeology.
The venue is at Via Montesano 1, the same address as the civic museum complex of Palazzo Montesano, which also houses the Museo dell’Olio. No official information about the exhibition route or the objects on display is available online.
