About the museum
The museum gathers archaeological material found in the territory of Teti, in the Mandrolisai, over roughly two centuries of discoveries, and offers visitors a route through the history of Sardinian archaeology. The display also includes finds from the municipalities of the Comunità montana XII.
The section devoted to the village-sanctuary of Abini presents copies of the famous Nuragic bronze figurines used in ritual (offerers, worshippers, archers and warriors), most of whose originals are kept in the Museo archeologico nazionale di Cagliari, together with original votive daggers and swords. The village of S’Urbale, with about fifty huts, is documented by pottery and stone tools dating from the beginning of the Middle Bronze Age to the early Iron Age.
The highlight is the full-scale reconstruction of a hut from S’Urbale, complete with a central hearth, a storeroom and ceramic containers. The route closes with Eneolithic material of the Monte Claro culture from Bidu ’e Concas and stone and pottery finds from the Talei nuraghe, both in Sorgono. The museum is managed by TACS Visits & Tours, which also organises guided visits to the Abini area and the village of S’Urbale.
