About the museum
The museum occupies the old workshop where Vittorio Stanguellini built his racing cars, at the site of the Fiat dealership run by the family for over eighty years. The Stanguellini family is one of Modena's best-known car builders: its history begins in 1879, when Celso Stanguellini started a business making musical instruments, before the family turned to car construction in the 20th century.
The route presents the most successful models produced in the workshop, including the Formula Junior “Delfino” and the experimental “Colibrì”, which in 1963 set six world records at Monza. This is followed by an overview of car history with the family's private collection, opened by the “Modena 1”, a 1908 Fiat Tipo 1, and including cars of various makes bought for racing or out of passion.
The visit ends with the display dedicated to Danilo Tavoni, a craftsman nicknamed “Mani d’Oro” (Golden Hands) by Enzo Ferrari and Vittorio Stanguellini, with period-style motorcycles that he built.
