About the museum
The visitor centre is located at La Ruà, a hamlet of Pragelato, at the entrance to the Val Troncea, and is one of the reception points of the protected area in the Cottian Alps. The natural park protects one of the wildest valleys in the upper Val Chisone.
The museum route is based on panels illustrating the park and its environments: the woodlands, the valley’s traditional architecture, local history, and flora and fauna, complemented by a few taxidermied animals. Outside, an ethnobotanical trail can be walked independently.
The facility also has a bookshop, a conference room and multipurpose spaces.
