About the museum
The museum is set up in a single room on the ground floor of what was the hamlet school of Massello, in the Balsiglia district. It tells the story of the siege suffered in 1690 by the Waldensians led by Henri Arnaud on the Pan di Zucchero, the final episode of the Glorioso Rimpatrio, the armed return from Swiss exile that began in the summer of 1689.
The exhibition is based on documents, graphic material, a video and a model of the site, complemented by stained-glass windows dedicated to Henri Arnaud, Tron Poulat and Giosuè Gianavello, central figures of Waldensian resistance. Outside, visitors can walk part of the route of the siege.
The museum is part of the museum system of the Waldensian valleys, coordinated by the Fondazione Centro Culturale Valdese in Torre Pellice.
