About the museum

The civic museum of Vallepietra has a dual significance: it preserves the civic memory of a village that grew up in the Middle Ages around the Caetani family, with its tower nearly a thousand years old at the centre of the settlement, and it gathers traces of the pilgrims who renew the feast of the Santissima Trinità every year.

The route is organised in four small rooms, dedicated respectively to sacred furnishings and vestments, to the confraternities, to the priests in the religious history of the village, and to the ex-votos of the sanctuary, with a display case of pilgrims' souvenirs. Period photographs of the village and sacred furnishings from the church of San Giovanni Evangelista are also on display.

Next to the museum is a documentation centre with films and photographs, including a documentary on the Santissima Trinità sanctuary.
