About the museum
The museum opened on 14 August 2008 in a water mill at the entrance to Verrecchie, a hamlet of Cappadocia. For centuries the mill was a point of reference for farmers, who ground wheat, maize and pulses there until the 20th century. It has two millstones, a water-powered one from the 19th century and an electric one from 1950.
The museum was set up and is run by the Pro Loco di Verrecchie. It collects old tools linked to the farming, shepherding and craft activities of the area, together with historical documents, period photographs and books on local history.
