About the museum
The museum was founded in 1984 and is named after Luigi Musini of Busseto, a Garibaldian and deputy of the Kingdom of Italy elected for the Socialists in the Fidenza constituency. Its core is the collection donated to the Comune by Nullo Musini, Luigi's son, to which relics donated by other citizens were added. After an initial home in Palazzo Porcellini, it has been housed in the former Palazzo delle Orsoline since 1989.
The route is divided into nine sections, from the era of Napoleon and Maria Luigia to the Second World War and the Resistance, with thematic sections on Garibaldi, Verdi and Musini. On display are proclamations, war relics (flags, uniforms and some weapons), photographs, engravings, letters, lithographs, posters, prints and a rare copy of the photographic album of the Thousand.
