About the museum
The museum is housed in the 18th-century Palazzo delle Orsoline in Fidenza. It was set up by members of the Gruppo Paleontofili Fidentini, using finds that they themselves made available.
The display is divided into three rooms. The Sala dello Stirone presents fossils found along the Stirone stream; the Sala della Paleobotanica reconstructs the Quaternary flora of the Po Plain after the sea withdrew, with finds from the Parco dello Stirone; the Sala dei Minerali, named after a display case with minerals from various parts of the world, also offers an overview of the main fossils of the four geological eras.
