About the museum
The Museo civico di Cascia is housed in Palazzo Santi, a 17th-century building in the historic centre. The display is divided into two sections.
On the ground floor are presented the archaeological finds from Cascia and its territory, dating from the 8th century BC to the Roman period, including the grave goods of a Hellenistic tomb discovered at Maltignano.
On the first floor is the picture gallery, with paintings, sculptures, liturgical vestments and furnishings from churches and noble palaces. Among the most significant works are the polychrome wooden Madonna from Poggioprimocaso and the statue “Tobia e l'Angelo” (Tobias and the Angel), as well as works by Lazzaro Baldi and Domenico Corvi and a room dedicated to Cardinal Fausto Poli.
