About the museum
The civic museum, opened in 1984, occupies several rooms of the former Palazzo di Città, built in 1847 and later restructured, on the central square once known as Piazza Trieste and today Piazza Giovanni Paolo II.
The archaeological section presents material from the Neolithic to the early Middle Ages, including Bronze Age finds from the underground area of Terra di Corte, Roman objects such as coins and inscriptions, and medieval pottery. The ethnographic section illustrates local rural life with a life-size reconstruction of a farmhouse and displays of household furniture, farm tools and craft implements.
