About the museum
The Museo contadino di Foiana (Völlan) opened in 1977 in a building annexed to the village's parish house (canonica), above Lana. It is run by the association Museumsverein Völlan and documents South Tyrolean rural life, mainly between the 18th and 19th centuries, through tools, implements and everyday objects.
On the ground floor is a farmhouse stube with a chest (cassapanca) from the Val di Non dating from 1862. There are also rooms devoted to tools, baskets, flax processing and the sulphuring of vines, and one room houses a mill that came from Oberinn on the Renon. The upper floor is devoted to spinning and weaving.
