About the museum
The Museo di Arte Contemporanea di Caserta is housed in several rooms of the Complesso di Sant’Agostino, in the heart of the historic centre of the city, and is run by the municipality of Caserta. Its collection documents the contribution of artists connected with the Caserta area.
The museum holds works by some thirty artists who, starting out in the province of Caserta, have achieved success throughout Italy and in some cases abroad. The artists represented include Raffaele Bova, Antonio De Core, Bruno Donzelli, Battista Marello, Gabriele Marino, Andrea Sparaco, Antonello Tagliafierro, Alfredo Aceto and Giovanni Tariello.
The museum also has a branch in the Complesso Monumentale del Belvedere di San Leucio, in the spaces of the “Filanda dei Cipressi” and the “Coculliera”, which are used for exhibitions.
