About the museum
The museum is dedicated to the ethnological and archaeological cultures of Africa, Oceania and pre-Columbian America, with a small Asian section. The route shows how Westerners have looked at these "other" cultures, from first contact to the present day.
Founded in 1972 as the Museo delle Arti Primitive – Raccolta Dinz Rialto, it remained at Castel Sismondo until May 2000, when it moved to Villa Alvarado, in the Covignano hills, and took on its current name.
Visits are now possible on request and on some special opening days with free guided tours.
