About the museum

The museum occupies a room in the Centro culturale of Vinchio, which also houses the municipal library. The title, “Vinchio è il mio nido” (“Vinchio is my nest”), echoes a phrase by the writer Davide Lajolo about his village, where he was born. The multimedia project was devised by Laurana Lajolo and Valentina Archimede and produced by Laurana Lajolo with Diffusione Immagine of Asti.

The route is a montage of photographs, letters and poems, with many unpublished documents, set against backdrops familiar to the writer: it seems as if Lajolo himself is recounting his life and commenting on situations, events and people. What emerges is a biography that is also the story of his generation. The sections retrace the Fascist wars and the Resistance, his work as a journalist, his role as a member of parliament and his activity as a writer, alongside family memory and the memory of the Vinchio community.
