About the museum
The museum opened in 2019 in Iglesias and is based on the ethno-anthropological collection that maestro Priola assembled and preserved for many years. The heritage was later enriched by donations from several Iglesias families.
On the ground floor are displayed everyday objects, including baskets, a large clay jar (giara), carved and painted chests, a loom, a stone millstone and a wine press. On the first floor are the traditional costumes of Iglesias, with women’s dresses that varied according to social status or age, such as Sa Nostrada, La Massaja Antiga and Sa Bagadia, as well as men’s costumes.
In the side display cases are shawls and bodices, while the central case holds jewellery such as earrings, pendants, brooches and buttons.
