About the museum
The Museo del Lago di Cassone is located in Cassone, about 4 km south of Malcesine, near the small harbour and the mouth of the Aril river. The building was once a fish-breeding facility before it became a museum.
On two floors it tells the story of fishing and life on Lake Garda. On the ground floor, traditional fishing equipment is on display, including nets from the fifties, utensils and replicas of small boats. The first floor shows equipment and accessories of old trades and many period photographs of the people of Malcesine.
Outside, two large tanks hold trout, chub and eels.
