About the museum
The Museo dei Pescatori was set up by the municipal administration of Limone sul Garda to keep alive the memory of the old trades and traditions of the town. After the opening of the Gardesana, fishing, once central to the village, was gradually abandoned.
The museum holds a typical boat and the tools used every day by the fishermen, together with notes on the lake's fish, recipes for traditional lake-fish dishes and period photographs. The objects were donated by the families of former fishermen and by fishermen of the Association, who actively contributed to the display.
The museum is in the historic centre, in Via Porto Ragni, easily reached from the lakeside promenade.
