About the museum
The GAMM Game Museum is Rome’s video game museum; it describes itself as the only museum in Italy devoted entirely to the video game medium. It was founded as VIGAMus, has since changed location and name, and is now in via delle Terme di Diocleziano, near Piazza della Repubblica and Termini station.
The museum extends over about 700 square metres on two levels and presents video games as a historical, industrial and social phenomenon, with consoles, historic titles, hardware, software and arcade cabinets. The permanent route follows a chronological order, from the first electronic entertainment to today’s digital age.
It is recognised by the Lazio Region, is listed in the Regional Museum Organisation and is a member of ICOM. In 2026 the directorship passed from Marco Accordi Rickards to Massimo Triulzi.
