About the museum
The Banda Sociale di Pergine is the oldest cultural association still active in the town and is deeply bound up with its social life: its history is intertwined with that of Pergine in the 19th and 20th centuries. A musical ensemble has existed in the town since the early 19th century, with the Banda dei dilettanti, the Società filarmonica of 1868 and the Fanfara perginese of 1885–86. The band’s centenary was celebrated in 2000.
At the association’s premises in Via Pontara, a museum has been set up that preserves the association’s memory and makes its history accessible. Visits are possible by reservation, including for school groups as part of the project “In banda con la scuola”, which may include meetings with the pupils and with the youth group.
