November 10, 2026 – December 20, 2026
Small wooden carts and miniature objects made by Franco Gagliardi depict fieldwork, everyday gestures and the traditions of rural life on a reduced scale.
The museum is housed in the “Cambonino Vecchio” farmstead on the outskirts of Cremona, and is one of the city’s civic museums. The route brings the rural life of the past back to life: you cross the farmyard (aia) and enter the farmer’s house, furnished with everyday tools, household objects and children’s toys.
The old stables hold tools linked to animal husbandry, while in the “bügadéera” (the laundry room) the traditional washing is recreated. In the cellar you can see how wine was prepared and stored, and under the barchessali (open porticoes) carts and farm machinery are displayed. The visit also includes the small oratory of the Beata Vergine di Caravaggio, a valuable feature of the farmstead.
The museum also hosts the “Stazione del libro”, a small neighbourhood library with free admission, with books for consultation and loan during opening hours.
Admission is free.
The route is laid out entirely on the ground floor, except for the first floor of the farmer’s house, which has a bedroom and a toy room. The building is accessible to people with disabilities, although it is preferable for them to be accompanied.
