About the museum
The Museo della Civiltà Contadina “Gino Orlando” is housed in several rooms of the Palazzo Ducale in Presicce. It holds around 350 objects linked to the trades, traditions and everyday life of Presicce in the past, donated since the 1990s by citizens, both residents and non-residents.
The ground-floor rooms, known as “stanze dei mestieri” (trade rooms), hold the tools of the farmer, the stonecutter, the oil-mill worker, the farrier, the cobbler and other traditional trades. On the first floor, the domestic interior of the past has been reconstructed, with a kitchen, a bedroom and a loom room.
