About the museum
The museum is housed in the rectory of the church of Trarivi, a former Benedictine abbey declared a protected monument by the heritage authority (Soprintendenza) in 1990. It documents the Allied offensive against the Linea Gotica on the Adriatic side, from 25 August 1944 to 6 January 1945.
The main core is a collection of 235 black-and-white photographs of the fighting, mostly from the Imperial War Museum and partly from the Bundesarchiv in Koblenz. About 150 military finds recovered in the area are also on display, such as gas masks, helmets, cartridge cases and grenades, together with period newspapers (only some are shown), postcards and stamps.
