About the museum
The museum in Coriano is dedicated to Marco Simoncelli, a rider born in Cattolica in 1987 and raised in Coriano. It retraces his sporting career, which culminated in the 250cc world title in 2008, and his life off the track, up to his death in 2011 during the Malaysian Grand Prix.
The rooms hold motorcycles, helmets, racing suits and other personal objects. The museum is run by the municipality of Coriano, which looks after the collections, and works with the rider’s family.
The dedicated website, “La Storia del Sic”, presents the museum’s gallery and the rider’s career in the 125, 250 and MotoGP classes.
