About the museum
The MuSEd is the oldest Italian museum institution devoted to the history of pedagogy, schooling and education; its original core dates back to 1874. It is today run by the Department of Education Sciences of the Università Roma Tre and is described as a living centre of research and historical-educational experimentation.
The museum collects objects, books and documents on the history of the school, of education, of pedagogy and of children’s literature, seeking to combine conservation, accessibility and enhancement. The collection has been partly inventoried and catalogued, and has grown over time through numerous bibliographic and documentary holdings.
Because of renovation works at the seat in Piazza della Repubblica, the consultation service is temporarily suspended and visits are not possible until further notice.
