About the museum
The BOSC is a small natural history museum run by the Parco naturale delle Prealpi Giulie (Natural Park of the Julian Prealps) in Venzone. It developed out of the permanent exhibition “Foreste, Uomo, Economia” and is devoted to the woods of Friuli Venezia Giulia and to the ways in which people live in and use the forest environment.
The route is laid out in three rooms, where relief models, models and dioramas illustrate the history of the forests, forest ecosystems, local wildlife and the uses of trees. Visits are organised through the Tiere Motus museum in Venzone, run by the cooperative Farfalle nella Testa, where a combined ticket can also be bought.
