Giuseppe Buffoli. Per uno spazio

Exhibition by the artist Giuseppe Buffoli at the headquarters of the Fondazione Bandera, part of the seventh edition of the series “Della Natura e dell'Arte”, devoted to the dialogue between nature and contemporary art.

About the museum

The museum is the seat of the Fondazione Bandera per l’Arte, founded by entrepreneur Luigi Bandera as a patronage gift to the city and the area, and recognised by Regione Lombardia by resolution of 17 December 1999. It is housed in a former industrial building in Busto Arsizio with architectural features in the Liberty style.

The foundation’s statute provides for exhibitions, conferences, studies, cataloguing and educational activities for schools. The programme has a national scope and includes temporary exhibitions and workshops alongside the permanent collection.

The permanent collection is the Collezione Paganini, donated to the foundation by the family of the sculptor Carlo Paganini. Born in Milan in 1917, he graduated from the Accademia di Brera in 1941, taught sculpture at the Liceo Artistico di Brera and from 1978 was director of the Scuola d’Arte del Castello Sforzesco. The donation comprises around one hundred sculptures, drawings and engravings made between 1938 and 1991, including the series of tributes to Kafka and to Calvino and the documentation of the 1987 show “Luci – Ombre”.
