About the museum
The museum preserves the memory of cycling in Busto Arsizio and in Italy. It is named after Luigi Celora, former secretary of the Tre Farioli cycling club, who donated his collection of sports memorabilia to the town and wanted young people to learn about the great champions of the past. The official name was given after his death.
The exhibition, expanded and reopened on 19 December 2015, is on the upper floor of the former cotton mill that houses the Textile Museum, in the room that was once used for embroidery.
The display cases hold flags, cups, trophies, plaques, paintings, posters, books, magazines and period photographs of the feats of Bartali, Coppi, Pantani and other champions, while some historic bicycles are lent by a local collector. The museum is run by volunteers and in the past was open only on weekends, for a few hours.
