About the museum
Partinico’s civic museum is housed in the complex of the former Carmelite convent, founded in 1632–1634. After the property passed to the state domain, the convent was put to public use. Following restorations carried out between 1997 and 1999, part of the building houses the municipal library, the civic museum and representation spaces of the municipality.
The archaeological section holds tomb finds from the 4th century BC, Greco-Roman and Norman inscribed stones, amphorae and a numismatic collection. The ethnographic section documents the agricultural and pastoral traditions of the area with work tools and everyday objects.
