About the museum
The Museo Ferruccio Lamborghini opened in 2014 in Funo di Argelato, in the Bologna area, designed by Tonino Lamborghini to commemorate his father Ferruccio, founder of the car maker with the bull emblem. The exhibition space covers about 9,000 square metres.
Ferruccio Lamborghini was born in Renazzo, in the province of Ferrara, in 1916. After the war, partly spent as a military mechanic on Rhodes, he returned to Italy and in 1948 presented the Carioca tractor; in 1951 he opened the first factory, from which Trattori Lamborghini was born. In 1960 he founded the burner and air-conditioning company later called Lamborghini Calor, and in 1963 Lamborghini Auto in Sant’Agata Bolognese, from which models such as the Miura (1966) and the Countach (1971) emerged.
The route alternates tractors, cars and production vehicles with a reconstruction of Ferruccio’s first office at Lamborghini Trattori, with personal objects, documents and period photographs, linking Ferruccio’s story to that of the family and of Italy during the economic boom.
