About the museum
The museum grew out of donations to the municipality by the historic Verde firm, an accordion factory in Leinì. In 2023, to mark 130 years of the company's activity, it reopened in Villa Violante with a new display, renovated rooms and illustrated panels on accordion making and the history of the Verde family.
The collection comprises about a hundred accordions, together with components and machinery used to build the instruments, and tells the story and evolution of the accordion. According to tourism portals, the music library also holds more than 50,000 accordion scores from all over the world.
To make the villa accessible, the municipality installed a new lift at a cost of around €45,000. Since the reopening the museum can be visited thanks to volunteers during city events and, on request, for schools. The move to the Castello Provana is planned after the redevelopment of the complex.
