About the museum
The TIM Historical Archive preserves the memory of the SIP, STET and Telecom Italia groups and documents the development of Italian telecommunications through corporate, technological and social materials.
The TIM Historical Museum, conceived in 2017, is housed in the former CSELT site, today the TIM Innovation Lab, the group's telecommunications research centre. It is closely linked to the archive and also serves as a demonstration space for the latest applications, such as 5G, virtual reality and augmented reality.
The route shows the evolution of the telephone, from the first handmade wooden devices to modern terminals, with a section on telephone booths and a collection on Italian mobile telephony.
