Around fifty paintings by Gianluigi Toccafondo, inspired by photographs of the great divas of Italian silent cinema, accompany visitors through the museum's rooms and corridors. Short films and screenings complete the route.
About the museum
The Museo Interattivo del Cinema (MIC) is the museum venue of the Cineteca Milano, the Fondazione Cineteca Italiana, and is located in the Manifattura Tabacchi complex, on Viale Fulvio Testi. It offers an interactive route through the history of cinema and the techniques by which films are made.
The exhibition uses dubbing apps, interactive tables, augmented reality and virtual reality. Since 2021 it includes spaces devoted to cinema, photography, dubbing, film scores and video games. The building covers 1,250 square metres and includes an 85-seat screening room with a laser video projector and a 35 mm projector for the classic films preserved by the Cineteca. The complex also has a panoramic rooftop terrace used for events and open-air summer screenings.
